NP. You can sell the wheels to someone that thinks they are fantastic and that would effectively bring this down to a $3500 project car. As someone who has no great affection for C3 Vettes I kind of get a kick out of the ridiculousness of making one into a shooting brake. And since the car is obviously not a

@Japcola: Actually, judging by the accidents that I drove past on the way in and the crashworthyness (well, the lack thereof) of my truck, I think I'm just as likely to get killed by the idiots around me if I'm driving or biking.

@Japcola: True, but it usually only takes me 32 minutes to bike the 9 miles to work. 45 minutes sitting in traffic was making my head explode, I'd have rather been biking in the rain.

Cheeky.

traffic- this doesn't have it. It just took me 45 minutes to drive 9 miles.

@Roberto G. could care less: I totally agree. It always sets off alarms when someone claims that there are super low miles since their engine swap or rebuild and they are selling it.

@Jackie: Yes, I can confirm from last winter that a Miata with the LSD is stupid fun in the snow and impressively hard to get stuck. Even with all season tires, low ground clearance was the limiting factor.

@P161911 probably shoudn't have: I had the very same question. well, that and, "How much time does this guy have to spend building this crap?"

The article describes 18 different people bidding on it. I'd love to know who some of the players were that ran this price up to 7x the original estimated sale price (Telegraph headline disagrees with the 5x here).

@Quattro-luvr: Whoa! I didn't look that closely at first. Holy crap that looks painful. Last time I checked ankles aren't supposed to twist 90deg like that.

@wheelhorseofcourse: I can definitely support that. But if he keeps going to Mexico they might want to donate an old one so it doesn't attract too much attention.

@triptheory: Excellent color choice to convey the crapitude that was the Beretta and Corsica.

@rawtoast: Ahhh, but the Turbo version of that generation Colt was made for one year only and was huge in SCCA showroom stock racing. So, the base colt, no, but All Colts? No, there will be the enthusiasts for Colt Turbos.

@Rhitick - longs to be a supa star: I think mega-funding would somehow kill the fun and inherent Jalop-ness of doing things last-minute on a shoestring with a parts car E30. Not that I don't want Bill to make some money at this, but I don't want to see a mega-buck build.

@snap_understeer_ftw: Seriously. This guy needs to check up on drafting. If I can draft on my bicycle at 20Mph then any car is able to get some benefit from a draft.

@Adam: I checked a number of other competitors and it looks like the speed function is not working.
