Cosworth SCA F2 engine, 1000cc's of 9000rpm gear driven cam glory. They really sounded fantastic.

@P161911 probably shoudn't have: Wow, I've never seen one of those before; and I hope to never see one again. I always hated the hood-melding-into-side-mirror design of the 4th gen cars and it is so integral to the mirror and hood/fender design, it seems to ruin its ability to be modified into anything remotely good

@Steve Neill: I was just recommending one to an intern yesterday after he was complaining about how is money disappeared every month. $6/day on subway fare = $30/week =$120/month = 1 cheap used bike on craigslist. Done. Assuming $30 in maintenance =$1290 saved annually what I paid for a beater Miata.

@mytdawg: I've contemplated trying to find one to do some work on my Miata but I know it's just not rational. There are so many things to fix on it that it will ultimately be cheaper to just buy a nice one. The problem with that is that having a Miata in our family doesn't make any sense except for the fact that I got

@mytdawg: This relates to our earlier exchange- a friend recently asked me if I could recommend a body shop, to which I replied, "Have you LOOKED at my cars?" And she said, "Oh, yeah, right. never mind."

@Dominic Chan: Two of my neighbors have bought those after I recommended them and are very happy with them. The only reason I don't have one is that I don't buy new cars.

@mytdawg: Me too. I actually prefer a car with some blemishes, especially since I have to park it on the street anyway.

@flyingstitch: Very understandable, the 635 is a beautiful car. I fell in love with a 3.0 CS that a mechanic friend of mine had in the early 90's. He restored it after it buying it cheap due to flood damage and it was just gorgeous, added webers and the thing sounded like an angry rhino and went like a raped ape.

@worthless_cos: Emissions control tubes on a Cosworth twin cam... wow. That is the most appropriate picture I can imagine for that sentiment. Bravo.

@flyingstitch: @Alfisted: I agree with Alfisted on that one, although the current 6-series pales to the the 80's 635, I will always be a bit less attracted to the 635 than I was to the 3.0 CS.

@tonyola: I totally agree. I even considered buying a genI, especially after the genII cars came out. I was horrified by the 'Americanization' they subjected it to -bloat in every way possible. The original may not be fast but it is simple, practical, and IMO much better looking.

@Ash78, special Caucasian: That's a fantastic series. We toured a bunch of the Parks when I was a kid and that series brought back a flood of memories and damn near brought a tear to my eyes on more than one occasion.

Ok Matt wtf was that link on the word obviously?

Bravo. That was brilliant.

@tiddo: If you're not catching air on the Nurburgring, you're doing it wrong.
