There are those of us who care about actively trying to make the world a more equitable place.

I have seriously NEVER considered the age, sex or race of the author before reading a book. Most of the time, I do not even know it, and quite frankly, I don't care.

She showed a slide of Left 4 Dead 2. Four playable protagonists, one of them female. She complimented the latest Borderlands for upping the number of playable women heroes in each of the original base games from one to two (more if you count the DLC). She showed Team Fortress 2. Nine playable classes, none of them

Consider forming really strong opinions about independent video games.

I have to say that I understand how this was a serious problem for many many people ( I didn't at first but the more I read into it/heard from those effected I understood) but on the flip side this is a botched job of fixing the issue at hand if I do say so myself.

I think there's something fundamentally wrong with a system that rewards abject failure regardless of whether it's intentional or not.
