Soccer/football narrative is always framed by the team/player making the plays; it’s super sensationalistic. If Messi made that play, it’d be “look at how Messi wins the ball, recovers it from the keeper almost saving it, shakes 2 defenders, and cooly taps the ball in! Greatest player ever!”
