So everyone who poo-pooed those of us with (it turns out justified) skepticism over the last article is going to line up for their helping of crow, right?

Well, "playing the race card" is an accusation that is beginning to lose all meaning, isn't it.
It always astounds me when people use the Great War and WWII to argue that the men of the past were somehow of higher calibre than the men of the present generation simply because they, well, fought in wars. Iraq-Afghanistan not only lasted many years longer, but the troops saw more and longer deployments, and far…
For who, though? So that Asian students can filter everyone else out?
Another article stated that she'd originally planned on another experiment entirely (involving their sting IIRC) and in lieu of that one her father suggested this one... which more or less implies that not only did he help her with the experimental design, the original idea for the entire experiment was his.
Er... the article literally says that her father gave her advice and direction, to the point of altering her experiment and deciding on its parameters. This is exactly what my father did for me.
Yeah... not that this isn't a nice accomplishment in and of itself, but sure, I had the best functional motor on my 11th grade physics project - while I did build it myself, surprise surprise, my dad's a mechanic and he gave me a lot of great tips and helped me out with the design.
The same has happened to me on multiple occasions, contrary to what I was told about the evooool tax man growing up. Turns out, if you actually pay your taxes, they're surprisingly helpful, cool people.
My kids are getting my last name because Mr. Cat took my last name when we got married ;p
Yeaaaahhh.... this relationship is over.
So... in other words, exactly what I said.
It was meant as one. But I think you think heels are doing more for you than they actually are - you already have really nice legs. They look nice in flats, too.
And this is exactly why the vanity sizing started to happen.
Lol I am an inch taller and a 1/2 size larger in shoe size but exactly the same thing happened to me. In my 30s I'm wearing a size and to a size and a half smaller than I did as a teen. A friend in retail told me that's because a lot of stores have started vanity sizing the the larger sizes.
Shoe vanity sizing. The same thing happened to me. The men's size I wear, as well as the actual length of my feet, has stayed exactly the same. I was up to a 10.5 as a teen, but now I find I can wear 9.5s and sometimes even 9s. So many stores won't carry higher than a size 10 or 11 out of fear of making women "feel…
They look exactly the same to me.
Yeah the mechanics ruined the entire ending for me (as a microbiologist) unfortunately. There's no scientific reason they would have to do more than a simple biopsy. Risky, perhaps, if all of the spores are located in her brain, but not all all beyond the skill of a surgeon to have her survive. We've been doing minor…
In GRRM's defense, that's one of the worst scenes in the entire series.
It might just have to do with scarcity. In a place where there's hard work and little food, heavier women are rare and so are pretty men, but among those wealthy enough to afford internet access they probably have closer to what we'd consider white collar jobs and plenty of food access; among their social class it's…
What? Pretty men have been considered attractive since the beginning of time. Exhibit A: Justin Beiber. Exhibit B: half the teen heart-throbs out there.
