Im using my steam deck mostly to play calm, mouse driven games, so my recommendation is Into The Breach. Sure it came out in 2018, but it just got an enormous free update that increased the content by more than half.

The worst part of this update is that it’s free. I love Into the Breach so much. I wish they had given me a chance to pay them for more content. I need to find someone else to buy this game for...
