You might note that was the night prior and not related to any of the marches held on the 21st.

I say that if pursuing this calling helps her feel better, then we leave her be. She’s not likely to convince anyone of anything, nor harm anyone else.

What was done to her was beyond unforgivable. But it wasn’t the porn’s fault; it was solely the fault of the evil waste of life who abducted her. Blaming porn is like blaming video games for Columbine.

I feel like a person whose introduction to porn was their rapist abductor kind of doesn't have the most level starting point for a conversation about the subject. But maybe that's just me.

Counterpoint: the older I get, the less of a shit I give what adults do that only affects them. Only when I got to the part about her younger kids being taken from her did I feel any give-a-shit.

It seems like not having access to medication for their daughter isn’t the only cause of this, but it does seem to have added to the parents’ stress. This is the fourth or fifth story I’ve read this year about a parent or spouse committing murder-suicide and there being a link to lack of healthcare for their loved one.

By not reporting Sandusky, Paterno committed a crime. Criminals should not get pensions.

One of the non-football things he did was help raise money for a library expansion (basically doubling the size of the building and collections). That was seen as something most football coaches wouldn’t have bothered doing. I’m not sure that his defenders fall back on this though. And I’m not saying this negates what

he had one of the highest graduation rates, he never took a ton of money, he always talked about doing the right thing, he donated money to the school (the library is named after him), blah blah blah. most should do those things but most dont.

He donated a bunch of money to the University for things other than football, such as the library. None of that outweighs choosing to ignore the molestation of children.

Tweeted yesterday. “Truth no matter who tells it”, does this include victims, Jay?

A witness claiming that they told Paterno about their own rape isn’t circumstantial evidence. Look if you want to claim that person is lying go for it, but don’t try to minimize what was actually stated.

Even with a grain of salt, the investigator found numerous instances where Penn State, including JoePa indirectly and directly - ignored the allegations. Even if it isn’t game-set-match, that’s beyond damning, irrespective of whose side the investigator is on. What’s PSU going to respond with - an expert who says

Death already took it.

Changing your opinion on something based on new facts presented is something an intelligent mind does. If you were still defending PSU at this point (even before these most recent items came to light) it’s pretty safe to say you’re not in that category.

So if you’re an unwavering JoPa supporter, do you:

When I was 13, an older girl at school whose boyfriend was the guy I had a crush on would call me on the phone and tell me to kill myself (and would throw out some ideas, as well). Finally my Mom picked up the phone and heard it, and reported it to the school- they did absolutely nothing about it.

Breaking up with someone is not a crime, no matter what they do afterwards. The Clemenit case is very different. Ravi Whatshisname was not charged with having anything to do with Tyler’s suicide, but for taping him and putting his private actions online for people to watch. I

Allegedly? I think everyone agrees she sent him text urging him to kill himself. What isn’t clear is whether that was a crime.

This girl can fuck right off. I had an ex tell me to kill myself when I was struggling. This shit is unacceptable.
