@Angryrider: Actually, the cartridge shells are big just because of the front loading format. Inside an american NES cartridge is a board the exact same size as a famicom cartridge.

@jinkusu: That "better sound capability" was a result of the VRC6 chip on the Akumajou Densetsu cartridge, not because of anything on the Famicom itself. Konami of America decided to cut costs when making the english version and left the VRC6 chip off of Castlevania III.

@Xaero_Dumort: I don't think it's a limit at all. Consoles just aren't a great platform for an FPS unless it was specifically designed for it (Halo, Metroid, Goldeneye 64) or gives the player the option of Mouse/Keyboard (Half-Life PS2). So those people who, when given the choice, opt for PC are telling the developers
