As someone who works in Higher Education Administration, I'd be shocked if any college ever gave a single fuck about anything negative that happens anytime before High School. Also, any decent college looks at something like being "held back" as an example of resilience, which = being an even more attractive candidate.

I was waiting for someone to point this out; I don't think taking booze home is EVER an acceptable option, and the only time I'd even consider it is if the host I brought it for insisted I take it back or if they were allergic to something in it or whatever.
