Agreed. Anyone who participates in any motorsports event (from concors to Autocross to PDX/HPDE to Club Racing) knows that the primary goal is to have a safe event. This driver forced his way with his vehicle past the safety crew to do a burnout with his CAR. There is no guarantee that the the area was ready or that

I'm gonna say it... This guy is a fuckin' boss. He pulled off a horrible idea in the worst way imaginable.

I still use XP on the laptop. Back in the day, it was pretty powerful, which I needed back in the day. Now, it is basically a netbook with a bigger screen and a better case. Which is what I need now.

I actually wrap all my gifts in brown packing paper. Clear sticky tape is not strong enough for it because of the loose fibers - I got a mini hot glue gun for $2 at the arts and crafts store and it works great!

+1 for the Simpsons reference

It really comes down to what you're using the TV for. If you just watch cable, netflix (even in HD) or play video games, most TVs will fit the bill. Neither cable HD or Netflix HD come close to the quality of Blu-Ray. Yes, same amount of pixles, but the compression is different.

I thought I was the only person who liked their Dell keyboard. I've searched for a replacement and have yet to find one I like more. The Das keyboard was a contender, but paying damn near $100 for a keyboard designed to be the functional equivalent of what they used to give away with IBM computers seemed like a

Art Lebedev (the guy behind the design firm that came out with the Optimus keyboard) has published a series of articles on design, in one of which he addresses the emoticon issue. He actually believes that they are underused, and when comprised of traditional punctuation (as opposed to images inserted into text) are a

Be careful when you're buying from a dealer that offers these dealer options. The point isn't always to charge you for them. The point is to change the focus from the vehicle price to the extra price.

Stupid Thing #5: Shopping Stoned. The following paragraph still applies.

I was going to write why I chose Windows 7 over Ubuntu Linux and Apple after having all three before, but I'm sick of the OS wars.

@fattymoocow Thank you for the recommendation! I got it set up and it seems to work great! PROTIP: Do a Google search for a promo code to increase the free storage space to 5GB. "worldbackupday" worked for me.

I've looked into TrueCrypt before, and (I know I'll get flak for this) it's really more than I need and can be tricky with a synching service. While no security is perfect, I do run Windows 7 antivirus every other night and SpySweeper every other night. I have DD-WRT set up with a firewall as well. When browsing

And another... a semi truck with a sleeper cabin. I could use a good tow rig, and I figure go big or go home. Plus, I could get the best autocross trailer EVER.

I can't believe this hasn't come up yet. I would love to have a mid-80s Prevost coach bus with a head. I'd convert it into an RV. The mid 80's ones usually have engines designed to last a million miles and have great styling (The stainless/aluminum sides are mandatory).

Do any of these support encryption? I'm already set up with DropBox (otherwise I'd probably get SugarSync for the 5gigs alone). However, I could be enticed to leave should there be a service that supports decent encryption.

It also just occured to me that you can not verify a CragisList account with a metroPCS phone number (or a Google Voice number, so no workaround). It has something to do with the way metroPCS assigns numbers. So if you sell stuff on craigslist, you will have to use a roommates or friend's phone to verify the account

Coverage. MetroPCS is just that; Metro. If you stray too far from a major city you may not be able to get internet services, and if you're really out there, there is a chance that you will have to pay a roaming charge.

OpenOffice. ( http:\\www.openoffice.org ) - It's an open source alternative. I use it on my Windows machines at home and my Linux box at work and I actually prefer it over MS Office (it supports Mac as well). It supports all the major functions of Microsoft Office (including, @ionpattern, there is a Zotero extension

PLEASE teach him driving manners!
