You’re always going to lose money your first year ... I’m really looking forward to this next season with the new wing (and hopefully some more speed).

First thing that I thought of .... BMW 2002. Then I saw Orlove’s response summed it up nicely.

I just came here because the Amco shift knob....love those graphics.

Thank you for clarifying, I was so confused.

What is a 2002, is that the model year?

I ask most modern racers this question. If you had to daily drive the following, which would it be?

Easy, the Pininfarina Maserati Birdcage concept. Thank you Mr. Castriota.

BMW 2002 - fun to drive, classic appeal, plenty of room, dependable, not atmospherically priced yet, and no emission worries.

Forum poster named “Pheadrus” who is discussing “quality”....... did I just walk back into my freshman philosophy class?

The e21 has a pretty infamous swaybar-related engineering issue to start with. The fine chassis engineers from Munich must have had some Warsteiner with lunch and subsequently decided it was a good idea to make the swaybar do double duty as the radius rod. BMW never did it prior and never did it again.

Someone tell Wood that a good frind of mine has one of the old celica celebrity cars and rents it out at vara vintage racing events around socal. Pretty inexpensive as well.

If you went into a professional restoration shop and asked for an 02 like this (full bare metal respray, rust repair, hot rodded) then it would be 6 figures. If you spent a years worth of evenings doing it yourself you could do it to the same level for 50k-ish (not counting inevitable $/time due to hobbyist screw ups).

Call me whatever but am I the only one who doesn’t want presidential-race junk like this on Jalopnik? I come here for a breath of automotive rosiness, not political tant.

My wife and I bought a Mazda 5 and it does a pretty dang good job at hauling our family of 4 on road trips. Sliding doors and seating for 6 in a car roughly the proportions of a Prius is pretty cool. It’s not boring to drive which is a plus.

Please show me where I can get a 6k original miles E30M3 for cheaper, until then they can ask whatever they want.

Where on earth do you see he got everything for free?! Sounds like he called them up and probably got some discounts (which seems like a very Jalop thing to do).

(Age 22: circa 2008) First week after moving to LA with my Honda Accord and a couple hundred bucks I was ran into and the car (which was doubling as my apartment) was totaled. Just great, but why not make the most of it? Looked up on the bmw2002faq classifieds and saw someone listed a honest looking ‘71 2002 up in

heyoooooo

No sir ... Ireland Engineering.

Forgive me.
