I think you left out an even more important reason the analogy is bad. If a person doesn’t wear a seatbelt, they generally aren’t harming anyone but themselves (excluding financial costs, etc). But if they don’t get vaccinated, they are more likely to spread the virus, potentially killing other people. Not to mention…

I walk to work (well, I did before the pandemic and perpetual WFH), so my only car is a 30-year-old sports car I only drive on weekends. Not commuting by car or adding to the externalities of auto manufacturing is an even better way to cut emissions.
