If you look at the weight for the first year of the 350Z, it was actually lighter than the 370Z when it first came out.

I get the impression most of the people passive-aggressively commenting about hating people who recline seats have never been on an 8+ hour flight. When you’re in the air for 12 hours, not leaning back to go to sleep is not an option. Everyone leans their seat back, so it’s not really an issue.
I saw a Trans Sport in downtown Chicago last week and had much the same reaction. I had actually forgotten that they existed, having not seen one in so long.
Because there is still a market for Fieros. Nobody wants any of the boring old sedans on that list.
I agree completely about Honda and (especially) Acura’s current lineup. F-car and P-car refer to Ferrari and Porsche, which were more the class of car the NSX was competing against than the other Japanese sports cars which were half it’s price.
I assumed that redesign was just because they realized everyone thought the beak was awful.
Enthusiasts know that it’s just a Honda, and they don’t care, because it’s still a great car. The people who buy just for the badge won’t care and will continue to buy their F-cars and P-cars as they always have. That’s the way it went with the first generation, and almost certainly the way it will go the second time…
Reading the bit about Audi redesigning all of their cars to look similar to the R8 made me think Acura is doing things the other way around: they’ve designed the NSX to look like all of the other cars they’re currently selling.
It worked out for the bolt. Everyone thought the original concept looked so great, by the time it actually came out everyone had forgotten so nobody cared that it was a watered down wanbabe Prius.
I hate to say this, since it could just be the white balance on that picture, but that looks suspiciously like the wrong shade of white. It should be Championship White.
What’s really funny is when someone driving a brand new car that you know costs more than your older but expensive looking car and says “I wish I could afford one of those”.
One of them was another 911, so I can see giving up the second one somewhat easily.
It doesn’t even have to be one of today’s Ford products. I remember these on some Lincolns in the early 90’s. I think I’ve seen them on some other 90’s-era Fords as well. Mercury Grand Marquis maybe.
Based on != identical to.
Except the Alfa is based on an existing Maserati chassis and engine and the NSX chassis and engine are both new.
In Ye Olden Days, flashing your lights to pass seemed to be a thing that drivers actually knew what it meant. Now it seems to either confuse them because they have no idea what it means, or is taken as a sign that you feel their manhood is inadequate.
I’ll just leave this here.
That greenhouse is the exact opposite of most modern cars with high sills, short glass, and thick pillars. I bet the visibility is amazing.
I used to have a beater base model integra with winter tires and it was lots of fun. Pretty sure there was no LSD in that one, though there wasn’t really enough power to spin the tires much anyway. It’s about handling, not power.
I suspect this actually makes AWD vehicles less safe. The AWD hides the lack of traction when accelerating, so they don’t realize how bad it is until they go to stop.
