Well, the high-fashion industry is more art and less useful to wear. Compare it modern paintings, they all have a background story and a reason behind them but they generally look like crap to people that don't know about it and they aren't really meant to be sold to the general public.

Only if you buy pants that don't fit well, normally a good pair of slim fit pants will have enough room for the crotch area but will be tighter around the legs and waist (still leaves some space, else you have a skinny fit which is a nono).
