You won't have to play twice for the same game. If you have a game on Steam, you also own it for every platform that Steam ends up supporting in the future. Some of these "SteamPlay" games even have cross-platform cloud-save support. They're nice like that.

I wouldn't worry too much. Bethesda's GOTY edition covers tend to look quite similar to the original game.
