I had about 10 kickstarter during the pandemic and yes they all got affected in some way but mostly it was just delays until the price of container came down a little.

I think I had one kickstarter that asked for more money and it was something like $5 to $10 at most to help offset the shipping cost inflation.

For them

“the cost of labor in China where our games are produced, assembled and shipped has also doubled from $4 to $8 per hour.”

Did you?

Oh fuck off with that bullshit. Its clear from their history that they are under pricing their tiers to get more sales by putting riskier margins only to have the market do what it does and they then hold the backers hostage for more money. Either they pushed the kickstarter out the door before they really grasped

Every time I see something like this it reminds me of how lucky i have been with kickstarter. All 6 projects were delivered and the worst I had was a month delay. Hell throw throw burrito actually shipped EARLY!

Is this about the youtuber? Because it sure sounds like “not sorry for doing it sorry for getting caught “ applies more to the guy who proceeded to leak the entire set after getting it by accident instead of contacting the seller or wotc. And this is provided he didn't steal it or knowingly buy stolen goods

Another in a long list of “play stupid games win stupid prizes”

I mean looking back at the recent history of MTG there’s been a pretty steady stream of leaks and thefts at all parts of the production chain (printing, shipping, distribution), since both leaks and thefts are pretty lucrative these days. It’s most likely they contracted with the pinkertons to close these internal

If that's indeed what happened, is no one considering here that a YouTuber that knowingly broke street date is being honest about the situation?

I have no doubt the YouTuber is not being entirely honest about this because he probably knows the boxes were not obtained legitimately and is trying to portray himself as a completely innocent person that did nothing wrong. Not saying I agree with the method here but let's not pretend that someone who knows they

On one hand WotC is well within their rights to be annoyed that something fell through the cracks and revealed the BIG TWIST they were trying to keep under wraps.

How is using the name of a company when talking about said company “like your word of the day calendar”. You do realize that the company still exists, and they were hired, right? It’s not an analogy.

Considering the number of YouTubers who’ve gotten Transformers that “fell off the truck” over in Vietnam, I feel like it’s giving the reviewer too much benefit of the doubt that he didn’t get stolen merch.

I’m still not clear on how the Pinkertons gained access to the inside of his house. I get that they’re probably large, intimidating, armed men, shouting about jail time and gigantic fines, holding some kind of piece of paper they claim gives them access, but could he not just slam the door, call the cops, and tell

If he simply kept them and didn’t make videos, he could have refused to give the cards back and there isn’t really anything Wizards could have done. But, him making videos is of pre-release product is where Wizards would have had more legal leverage and could have sued him and/or had his channel taken down. So it’s

Calling GW the “absolute worst” is kind of over the top. They’re not nearly as litigious since they changed management in 2015, not to mention the mess that was the Chapterhouse lawsuit seemed to teach them a lesson. They're still problematic in some ways but mostly their biggest issue is that they're dinosaurs who

Sending Pinkertons is a wild overreaction IMO... but the poster should’ve just not posted the video of him opening something he knew wasn’t released yet.

It’s possible the provider wasn’t disclosed. I’m sure the guy doesn’t want to throw them under the bus to the public based on how he comes off here. Also, products get shipped super early sometimes where stores are told explicitly that they have to hold them for the street date. This is particularly early, but having

I feel like there is more to this story. Why isn’t his supplier listed in this article? While it is possible that this was a mix-up, the language quoted here makes it sound like the supplier might not be legitimate and could be getting product stolen from the factory floor or distribution centers.

Here’s another similar take that I found really amusing:
