I think there is a frustration amongst PC users who want to try OS X to figure out if it's worth the money though. Or are tired of having the OS X side push it on them. (I tried it, personal answer is no. But then again I prefer 17-inch laptops and they cost $$$$$$$^$$$$$ in Apple land)

But won't this all be moot soon anyway? Didn't Google get all those agreements that if you want to ship an Android phone after the release of ICS, you must support it for 18 months?

I think they look for this tag. Can't hurt.

They DO feel flimsy and fragile... but they aren't. Samsung knows what they're doing, that plastic is strong. It feels plasticy because the whole phone is built out of plastic, but it's strong plastic (as the video showed). The iPhone 4S is made out of glass, which doesn't feel flimsy or fragile, but is. Plastic feels

Amazon Silk is aimed at saving processor time (and also some bandwidth), and Opera is aimed at saving bandwidth. That's kinda the difference. It's because Amazon's tablet will probably be way lacking in the processing and memory department to compete with the iPad on load times (iPad costs more though).

Sounds kinds like Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity. Studies are ongoing and no one is really sure if it exists or is just in someones head. (The brain can do STRANGE things, it's completely possible this could just be like the Placebo effect and not even the sufferers know it, because the brain could convince them

Yes and no. It does the same job as Opera Turbo, in somewhat the same way. But from what I've read this may be a bit more sophisticated than Opera Turbo.

But only on iPad 2, the iPad 1 has no magnet sensor. And it's pretty useless if you leave them stuck at the homescreen, you can't do much other than delete apps, so just make sure you close your apps right now.

If it's a lost device, you can send it a message through Find My iPhone with your phone number on it if they are interested in getting it back to you. I just tested it, a message sent like that shows up before the lock screen. And you can still track it with a passcode before it's wiped, and so you have an hour or two

I'd argue that this would be a great item for a corporation, because it's only $200 and it runs Android (meaning IT can write apps for this thing internally, without having to spend an arm and a leg on Macs for the team if they don't have them). 2 check marks right there, it's also very portable. 300 bucks is a big

Nothing is wrong with it, but it just looks wrong

I think they aren't making it BECAUSE it's owned by Google. I think this is a move by Google to appease the rest of the Android community.

You can press and hold the power button on most phones and it does a hard reset just like on iPod/iPhone/iPad. Oh and if his phone is that bad, why doesn't he get warranty on it? It shouldn't be doing that...

You're both right and wrong. Google does many of the things you mentioned wrong. But that's okay. They don't want to be Apple, they could give a rats ass less about how well it all comes together. Why? Because Google is a search and advertising company. That's what this is all about. They aren't about getting crazy

Haha! I love the header picture. Also: Ask around your "friends". You can often get a good deal with them too, as they don't always know that a new one is coming, so they see OOO iPHONE FOR CHEAP!!! and don't know what's going on.

If I remember correctly, there was a shitstorm after MS made the changes to allow it. They had to do some heavy duty stuff, and people didn't like it one bit. It was a huge PR thing. Apple does not like bad PR. (Not saying they are right or wrong, just saying from their perspective)

Yea, it was the faster processor (things loading quicker) but the more RAM definitely is part of the improvement. I could store more pages in Mobile Safari without having to reload them and apps that were backgrounded came back quicker. Those two operations are more dependent upon ram than a fast processor. I'm not

A buuuuuuunch of what Apple does is stupid. However the Blu-Ray thing is for a reason. It has to do with the crazy DRM in the kernel the studios want for Blu-Ray support.

To all those who say it doesn't matter: It matters. I've felt the difference when I went iPad 1 to iPad 2 with the RAM doubling. It's nice. It may run fine with 512mb, but it could run even better with 1 GB. It surprises me Apple wouldn't try and make it run even better, especially when that move would just bring it

I think it's because the internals need a good deal of room, and the phone would have to be thicker to fit the same internals at a smaller sizes. Dropping the dimensions 10% such that it's a near-3.5 inch screen would make it 10.5mm thick, on par with Blackberry. Not to mention the work they would have to do in
