The headline was confusing. If we underestimated 262 million metric tons by 115%, that would mean we actually take 39.3 million metric tons out of the ground. (262 - 262*1.15 = -39.3)

I don’t get Arkell’s quoted explanation. I assume during any given second, an atom has a certain chance of not decaying—let’s call it x. And x remains the same no matter how recently the atom was checked. So over three seconds, no matter how many times you check the atom, the chance of its not decaying should be 3x.

There’s no “main dance floor” at Burning Man. That looks like a camp called Distrikt that hosts daytime dance parties.
