You’ve got my vote.  If “very successful buttstuff comments” aren’t the best way out of the grays, then what are we even doing here?

Aubreys, ranked:

Just came here to say that Alonso hit one to Jupiter last night, lugging this shit team to a win that - as he himself said before the game - they had to have.

Tangentially related to your point, but the false equivalency between Trump and AOC is fucking infuriating, all the more as it is normalized by its repetition. “Trump is crazy, AOC is crazy; meh, all Democrats and Republicans are partisan hacks.” No! Fuck that! No no no! I don’t agree with a lot of what is going on at

Durability. He’s never thrown more than 90 innings in a season (minors or majors). If he is still throwing like this in August - 125-150 innings into the season - then come back here and tell me I was wrong and I will probably have to admit that you may have point. But I am very dubious of guys like this with no real

Sure. But you are making a general statement and I am making a specific one.

Alonso is fun to watch; absolutely crushes the ball. I like the enthusiasm and the shit-talking out of Paddack - though I think it’s been rounded up a tad in this blog - but Alonso promises to be the more impactful player when all is said and done.

All I could think of:

Why are we still doing this?  Pope Thrower has had it in the bag from the jump.   We are just going through the motions at this point.

Dare to dream: constitutionally incapable now; Constitutionally incapable soon.

Ironically, that was the same Paul Wilson the Mets selected with the first overall pick in 1994 and who would go on to become one-third of the much-hyped “Generation K.”  It didn’t quite work out.

Enjoy training camp, Nick. I’m sure a rookie with a history of being a racist POS will be most welcome in any NFL locker room.

You call hamburgers steamed hams?

I am decidedly pro-bat flip, but this one didn’t do it for me. Too many rotations. Jose Bautista remains the king.

Reprinting this here with the permission of the author (me) from another kinja.

Fun fact: with Thursday’s win, the Mets are now 38-20 on Opening Day for their history, far and away the highest win percentage of any team, and a feat made all the more impressive by the fact that the team lost their first eight Opening Days from 1962-1969. Thus the annual chorus of Mets fans who propose - with a grow

“[F]eckless security theater” seems harsh. I have no idea what motivated the Nats to institute a bag ban, though I am not so naive as to dismiss the possibility that it was the opportunity to make more money.

You can stick your head up Stephen A. Smith’s ass . . . no, wait . . . it’s gotta be your bull . . .

It’s at least most lawyers.

I am not sold on Murray. Herbert and Tua are NFL-ready QBs right now. Barring injury, both will be even more primed to contribute after another college season. The Giants ain’t winning shit in 2019 or 2020. Why the rush to draft a QB now if there are going to be better options available in 2020 (when, if they do this
