We’ll, at least he’s trying, so I suppose we ought to give him an “a” for affort.

C-3POlina

Indeed he would. And it’s a better name, too. All hail, SpiderHulk.

The All-Star game is awesome. If they change anything, it should be on the fringe, and only as much as is needed to account for the fact that it is an exhibition held in the middle of the season. If the game goes extra innings, every player that has been taken out should be eligible to come back in until they are

Yeah, Radioactive-Spidey-Jeets.

This is the second year in a row that the home run derby was flat-out spectacular, and I think this year was better than last (although that might just be recency: Giancarlo put on one hell of a show in 2016).

Strong.

BLACK LIVES MATTER NETWORK, INC. is a Delaware corporation that is named in the complaint (which, FWIW, looks like it was written by a fourth grader. DeRay and his fellow defendants are gonna be just fine).

Florida continues to impress.

Yeah, see my response earlier up the line. I didn’t know that, and didn’t understand the context (that’s why I asked). The majority of you got the joke, a handful of us didn’t. I’m more than happy to like KD, so I consider the matter closed.

In fairness, “How about those whites?” could be the tagline for pretty much every team in the NHL.

I guess you’re right, and that seems to be the majority opinion here in the comments, but I’m clearly not the only one whose head went under the joke. I guess that’s the problem with trying to be funny on Twitter. Some dope like me will misinterpret and end up thinking you’re a dick when you’re not.

Is there a non-asshole explanation for that Durant tweet? Like he was trying to be funny and gently razz a new teammate or something? I always understood Durant to be a generally well-liked guy; this seems like a dick way to greet the new guy and kind of a bitchy way to show his employer the back of his hand.

Shit, man. Life comes at you fast. Georgetown fans have been describing Michael Sweetney as “shockingly competent” for almost two decades now.

I came here to write the exact same thing. That Buffalo team was sneaky good, and Pavel Bure was almost as untouchable as Tecmo Bowl Bo Jackson, but that Pittsburgh team was the one I always refused to let my brother pick. It just wasn’t even fair at that point.

The ironic thing here is that Puig trotted to first about as fast as Flores can run. 32 seconds around the bases would be a miracle for poor old Wilmer. Mets are wrong here - it wasn’t even that  bad - but they are awful right now and it’s actually encouraging as a Mets fan that a sufficient number of the players

Agree with most of this. Rosario at SS for and Dom Smith at 1B. Flores should play every day . . . he is a solid MLB ballplayer and has finally figured out right-handed pitching. He makes more sense at 2B than 3B, but I would not be shocked to see them bring back Neil Walker, which leaves 3B as the only option for

At the risk of being nitpicky, the tweet about Cespedes is three days old and stale. He is in the lineup tonight and is going to play tomorrow and Saturday, too, with a scheduled off day on Sunday.

No, man. The phone is the Vice President. Was that seriously lost on all of you people?
