Textures require GPU memory, they do not impact performance whatsoever (okay maybe 1-2 FPS). Unlike the music industry with the MP3 and the video industry with the DivX (there are others), I don't think the videogame industry has found a way to keep good textures with low file size. From last gen, only Rage has superior textures, that too came at a price, the game on the PC was 21 gb.

All next gen plats will have HD textures, I think you need to ask if the PC version is getting 8k textures.

You know what bothers me about games like Titanfall and this? They'll never end up on GOG. They will be played, money will be made and then it will be forgotten because once the servers go down, it's over. I guess this is one way of adding more value to a day 1 purchase - you get to play it longer than anyone else.
