I’ve never had anything resembling a test, not even informally, but I would be “myself,” full bore, right away to see what would stick. I could tell within a day or less whether we’d work out as friends (or as a couple), I’ve rarely been wrong.

I have a problem with how much wealthy people earn, I think the top people make more than they “earn,” I think lots of CEOs just do the basic job any other CEO would do. I hate inflated celebrity incomes, especially musical acts that can range from not creating their music to hardly even using their voices.

She saw Snoop Dogg, and Hoobastank, and Kanye West; separate shows. This was early 2000s, Hoobastank was famous enough— weren’t they? Kanye was coming up and Snoop was going down (this was before Drop it Like it’s Hot gave him a resurgence on pop radio.)

I grew up in Los Angeles— I’ve never met anyone that has won anything, I never won anything, and I used to enter those “send in a postcard” things to Fox Kids EVERY WEEKEND.

My wife has a knack for winning radio promotions, somehow she’s always THE caller that wins. She’s gone to half a dozen free concerts, gotten numerous lunches, and she has some spa tickets she’s waiting to use.

I agree. I wish the (for lack of a better word) purity of the ideological positions held true no matter who the subject was. But the majority of people who are proud to be a “democrat” or “republican” are just into identity politics and like lording over the “others” when their “side wins.”
