There are no advantages to being a high level. Everyone starts at level 1 and you gain exp (or Battlepoints) every time you finish a match. A Level 94 player has the same chance as a Level 1. A high level is only representative of the fact that this player has played more.

No, win or lose - everyone has a chance. It could be possible to idle, but you have to play till the end of the match regardless.

There's no crafting. But there is drop system - after each match you have a chance of having an item drop for you. Additionally, every time you level up you are guaranteed an item. Rarity for items range from Common to Immortal.

I think the more important aspect is she actually is into the game; she plays and understands many aspects of LoL eg. current meta heroes and strategies. She used to livestream herself playing LoL - but I haven't seen her do it in awhile.
