As a storytelling student, I can tell you exactly why that happens. I boils down to bad storytelling. Most action movies nowadays use action scenes to show you, in great CG $50m-per-scene detail, the consequences of a moment of story happening. Thank you for reminding me that I do love Ezra as Barry. I just wish I wasn’t concerned for the movie Ezra will have to carry.
