Hunting Horn went from an unfun weapon only useful in multiplayer (MH2) to quite possibly the BEST weapon for solo play in the game in MH3U. It's got the fastest move speed of any weapon while unsheathed (as long as you keep self-improvement running) and puts out higher sustained damage than the hammer.
