story isn't empty its just not straightforward, it forces the player to make their own connections and figure out the story themselves, this obscurity provides good satisfaction for players when they gain information. In my opinion this is more satisfying.

I'm a big fan of the series and although I was kinda pissed of at the changes at first I came to accept them. This dmc game is in a alternate universe has nothing to do with the canon series so why be mad at the changes, its just a brand new game not an addiction to series's story.
