My friend sees no issue with any of it's problems, I'll be getting a PS4 or going PC only.

I'm not really crazy about the shape to be honest, I wish they just made it square.

Its unacceptable no matter when it's done. Internet connections are far from perfect, and DRM has ruined entire games. DRM makes it impossible to play a game once the servers go down, and god forbid your internet goes out.

The "core" gamers seem content to be played like a fiddle.

Even as an Xbox and 360 owner, I'm laughing still at how badly Microsoft fucked up. It's like they went into a meeting and picked the worst things to do, and did them.

Awesome! The Battlefront games were really good so hopefully the quality stays.

Why? Because the book was actually amazing and this is 28 Weeks Later Part Deux, unoriginal shlock heaped on the dumb masses cuz you fools can't handle a good movie?

You nailed it!

It should've been a long episodic series on HBO. That would've worked much, much better.

Any game looks more interesting than World War Z's disastrous movie adaptation. I don't even have to see it to know how bad they've fucked up the premise of the book.

That makes sense then.

Oh god, yes. They're literally dangerous people, they can't understand why you don't have to be hiding anything to not need someone snooping around in your shit. All of my e-mails are above board and PG, but I don't even want my mom reading them, it's a privacy thing!

None of this keeps us safe, and any surveillance that can keep us safe can be done so abiding by the law. Terrorism is an infinitesimal danger, and it's not worth this type of Big Brother surveillance. It wouldn't be allowed to cut down on "murder" as a concept, why is terrorism different?

Yeah I've always thought that Tolkien didn't mean it as an allegory, but it came out subconsciously. Comparing Nazi Germany/Hitler to Mordor/Sauron is easy, Hobbits as the British, some of the humans or elves as the French, etc.

You also may remember it because it's from Lord of the Rings and it corrupts people and is used as a surveillance device.

They really named the company Palantir? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? The god damn things that Sauron used to make Denethor go insane? The thing that convinced Saruman the fight was doomed so he might as well assist Sauron?!

Also:

1. I know what it is, and it links to studies if I'm not mistaken. I also don't care about peer reviewed studies, this isn't what this is about. You're obsessed with them as if they somehow prove your incorrect notion about safety factors.

Well, no. It's because it's a story and people are invested in the characters. When you read about say General Custer's impending slaughter, you're removed from it and it's sterilized in the context of history.

Awesome!
