Why, because I was totally right?
Why, because I was totally right?
So he made a straw man despite it not being a straw man but rather a legit position on offensive jokes in comedy?
Do you not understand how you can speak hypothetically without the thing actually having happened?
Read my first post, I was perfectly clear. Stop jumping in to random threads at random points to assuage your obsession.
I love how you're literally just copying what someone else said, almost word for word.
Why do you keep repeating, insanely, that no is advocating for censorship when I never said anyone was (except for that one poster and random people in the world)?
I'm aware, and criticism is fine. Sadly, I've seen a lot of Americans say criminals shouldn't be defended (even disparaging the lawyers that represent them) should be tortured, that making fun of fat people should be illegal, etc.
Fair enough, I've had to see 50+ people go insane about my original comment.
It's not equivalent to that at all, as I'm not advocating for myself, nor am I saying rape jokes are funny as so many others have tried to claim.
There is little worse than an arrogant, incorrect umpire. They should be able to take bats to his knees for that shit. No, but they should be able to fine them or suspend them for clearly abusing their position. Scumbag.
I never claimed someone being violated is funny. Nice strawmen though.
No, Lindy didn't advocate for stopping comedians from telling rape jokes.
I made a statement in general about a specific issue brought up in the article and mentioned by Jim Norton and Lindy West. Got it?
No one is censoring stand up comedy, how many times do we need to go over this?
Yes, forcing meaning censorship for what I was discussing.
I never said anyone made it, and no one had to make it for me to discuss it. Why I brought it up was due to what Lindy wrote about Jim Norton (the paragraph I kept showing people who went full moron over it) and I was discussing the overall, big picture implications of censorship on comedy.
You mean when I copy-pasted the paragraph for people who didn't know what I was commenting on? That paragraph?
I at no point said people can't protest, or even boycott.
You're not paying much attention to the flow of conversation, nor the hypotheticals we're discussing. Stop conflating current reality with hypothetical issues concerning censorship and the like.
That's nice. Can you stop making me respond in a bunch of different places?
