I'm talking about the overall issue (even represented in the article, did you read it?) and I never said anyone here took the position. I'm talking about the overall issue and a motherfucking hypothetical in regards to it (outlawing offensive jokes/words/whatever).

*headdesk* No one, and I never said anyone is. I said "If you outlaw..." as a hypothetical situation. I said nothing about censorship either.

No, because I'm talking about anything deemed offensive which can be pretty much anything. Being against anything someone might consider offensive is silly at best.

I do because of my knee, it hurts to keep it bent really close to my other leg. Too restrictive. Much more comfortable to sit that way.

I didn't say anyone here, especially Lindy, said anything about outlawing jokes. In fact, Jim Norton brought up the issue. I know what censorship is, thanks for bringing that up entirely without purpose.

I'm talking about offensive jokes, not just rape and dead baby jokes. You're being extremely specific, I'm doing the opposite.

Are you joking? You need me to say "OMG DOSE PEOPLE DEY SAY DA MEAN THINGS FUCK THEM" like 50 other posters are going to?

I made perfect sense, sorry you couldn't follow it. My original point was clear as day, and non up there got it entirely wrong and distorted it, and I've had to correct it since!

My position was clear as day from the start, you're the one not getting it.

Oh yes, clearly my insult as a response to your condescension means I can't keep up.

I'm defining offensive as anything people get offended by, for the purposes of comedy and what and isn't acceptable to discuss. Making a joke about a car crash death could offend someone who's loved one died in a car crash, etc.

Oh okay, so your issue with my post didn't exist until after my second response. Cool. Pointing out "all comedy" is pedantic and you know it, and it makes no difference if I said "some comedy". You got the point and since you made no distinction, you can't complain about it and you just look like a nitpicking idiot.

I know, I'm not talking about what Lindy said since I agree with it for the most part.

That IS saying they're the same, you're making a direct link between slavery and meat eating. "Slavery was once thought of as bad, meat eating will be too!" direct link.

Yes I am, and I read what you said exactly.

You don't have to do that to be edgy, but saying "you're not allowed to make any jokes about anything offensive" is insane, especially because tons of people think everything is offensive.

They missed the point, you did too seemingly.

You're not really understanding, of course just going "Haha, dead baby" is lazy, but in a well done joke from a good comedian the topic can be funny. As can other jokes about offensive topics. If you outlaw jokes about anything offensive, you've done something dumb and lazy.

I'm going to go against the grain, but to be funny due to offensiveness you have to target the victims. For example, a holocaust joke or a dead baby joke.

Fears of rape? Men are already sexually aggressive according to society, whilst women are timid little flowers.
