I bought cyberpunk in a PC preorder. Played it, got about 100 hours, had fun. Well spent $60, IMO.

You guys double posted this squid game clickbait story.
It’s 2021, we can stop pretending that AAA games having free modes is done out of the goodness of someone’s heart and not because they’ve already planned on how to recoup any potential financial losses from that decisions through unreasonable grinds, exhorbitant microtransactions and exploitative practices.
“...combined with its competition’s poor reception”
This made me laugh because, while BF may be more buggy, they’re both categorically premature and another example of a downward trend in initial quality.
Because they KNOW 99% of gamers are stupid gullible little sheep who will preorder and buy day 1 without reviews. Time and time again the overwhelming majority of gamers rewards developers for releasing buggy, unacceptable trash by giving them money MONTHS before they even receive the game. I know of no other bloody…
It’s also notable that Rockstar’s not re-listing the originals on any store but their own, where they take a bigger cut of the profits. So even their mea culpa is self-serving.
“The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.”
How generous of them to give away games that have been available for practically pennies for several years now.
That’s great and all, but what I really want is an explanation of how you decided to release the games in this state to begin with. It’s not like you didn’t know what state the game was in when you released it.
A better apology would be to stop going after the modding community that kept those original games and community alive.
Great, but you don’t get bonus points for following up with shit that never should’ve happened in the first place. The passionate developers of my youth are a dying breed. Blizzard, Rockstar, Bioware, any of the numerous indie developers who got swallowed up by the big fish, etc. etc. Hell, even Devolver just…
It should be noted that Rockstar re-listing the old games is only temporary, according to their release (someting they would never had to do in the first place if they weren’t hell bent on nickle and diming their customers)
“The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.....but we released them because you gamers have shown you will buy any broken piece of crap day 1 lulz. We wasted so much money on QA on RDR2 for no reason!”
These types of statements are always the best because they’re the people in charge of releasing the things:
I hope they release a “Definitely Defenitive Remastered Remaster” for everyone to enjoy by the end of this year. I was really hoping to play this during my winter break.
NO MORE FKING “BATTLE PASSES.” I’m tired of this crap. Developers aren’t making good games anymore, they’re just making tons of FOMO so they can try to keep the impulse spenders on the hamster wheel for as long as possible.
Also, enough with these stupid “Seasons” with exclusive content that is released all of one…
Absolutely! As the character turns, you can blatantly see how the rain is just an effect on the screen and not a part of the environment. Ugly as heck.
The whole thing looks shitty.
That shot of the lake being hit by no rain, in spite of being surrounded by rain, was enough to kill my interest in this. I don’t give a shit about lack of fog, but this is just beyond lazy.
Acting like “aesthetic choice” and “hardware limitations” are two discrete things is silly. Aesthetic choices are made based on the hardware limitations and games are designed ground-up for them. Maybe if Rockstar started at square 1 on better tech they wouldn’t need fog. But the fog was an aesthetic choice based on…
