The wailing and gnashing of teeth in defense of a multi-billion dollar company is really embarrassing.

Hey I wanted to thank you for your comment. I have a hard time keeping my attention on long articles, and if your comment wasn’t the first one I had seen, I wouldn’t know they mentioned a top-tier rom-based gaming handheld in the article. After reading your comment I was able to find the handheld emulation device they…
The fact is, the most functional and convenient way to play these classic N64 games right now (unless you have a physical N64 that still works) is to “pirate” them, and that is 100% Nintendo’s fault. They have the time and the resources to deliver a better product than any homebrew emulator could ever hope to, but…
I don’t pirate games (because I mostly don’t know how and I am lucky enough to be in a financial situation where it’s not worth the hassle), but promoting it in many circumstances is A-OK if you ask me. Especially when it comes to giant corporations like Nintendo. At that point it’s not theft so much as it’s…
Oh no, Kotaku isn’t volunteering to be the Nintendo Copyright Police! This surely means the end for the site.
What is it with you people. You just think games media should pretend that emulation doesn’t exist?
Why bother “remastering” them now then if they’re just going to look outdated in five years? Guess it’ll be time to touch them up again. And again five years after that.
Don’t talk about shit with confidence when you don’t know the truth.. if that were the reason then they wouldn’t be removing the games from console storefronts too. The PS4 versions ran fine, yet they were removed too.
They are super easy to get running on PC and have far better controls than they do on consoles. Its not like people havent played these games in 20 years.
The originals are good and plenty of 10 year olds figured out the controls in 2001. Everybody should be able to see the lineage of the series if they’d like.
So what?
You are in need of chilling out. There is zero entitlement, an opinion is not entitlement. Relax yourself. Also you’re underestimating the mod community:
It does become an issue if you don’t really care to play all 3 games, though. I already played all of these when they were current, and the only one I really want to play again is Vice City. As much as I like Vice City, though, I’m not paying $60 for it. I’d pay $20 just to get that one, though. On the upside, as…
Lol it's the mandatory post from the lunatic who just wants press releases copied verbatim, and probably also wants "objective" reviews (thanks Ayn Rand!). Go read one of any number of crap sites which do exactly that with press releases.
I’m entitled to my opinion, as are you and they. Gee, it’s almost as is value is relative from person to person!
Sure. I still think its too high a price for what they’re offering. Especially considering almost everyone who is interested in these games likely already owns them, or has owned them before. If you think $60 is fair, more power to you, I’ll wait for a steep sale somewhere along the line if I am really interested.
Yeah screw that person for setting a budget and determining the personal value a digital product has for them. What an anti-capitalist rube.

Literally not a single sane person on this earth thinks that. We do however think this took a lot less effort than the production of a complete game from the ground up.
The question is, before the remake, how much would it have cost to get these three iconic games? Probably like $10 a piece before they were pulled from the Steam store so they could sell this remake.
I don’t think they’re hurting their PS5 sales by porting 3-5 year old PS4 games.
