People just need to get over the idea that they don’t have the right to not be offended by things. I think we’ve lost sight of that a little bit with everything going on. We can demand that people not be racist/sexist/homophobic and respond accordingly to people who are, but now all of that is growing into canceling

Those are obviously bigger issues. They’re also not what the article is about, so I didn’t bring them up. I brought up an example of similar online harassment because that’s the topic covered by the article. I can be concerned about all of the things you mentioned plus this thing.

Is your stance that this isn’t worth

Cool. So talking about separating the role from the actor - in the comments section of an article dealing with that very thing - is something we should avoid talking about in favor of the several existential threats we’re dealing with?

Your responses are so odd. I’m starting to think you are an AI.

You guys are so fucking desperate for twitter beef posts you’re just going to make up controversies out of thin air now?  ONE person sent him a disparaging message.  ONE PERSON.  Jesus.

The inability of these people to clearly separate fiction from reality is alarming. It reminds me of Wyatt Russell being harassed over the actions of the fictional character he played in Falcon & Winter Soldier. What is their goal? Do they just want stories with no villains and no characters that ever do bad things?

At least a few could stand to sink some XP into actual, real-life character development.

The AV Club seems convinced that the top priority for the head of a major movie studio, during a pandemic that has utterly scrambled its release schedule and decimated its gameplan for making money, is nonsense Twitter controversies.

Ublock my friend, it’s kind of a must in Kotaku for a couple of years now. Used to have these sites white listed a long time ago, but decided to remove it back when they started with the autoplaying videos all over the place.

Me trying to read this article past the Walking Dead advertisements:

The first paragraph exhibits an understanding of what Chapek quite obviously meant. The second paragraph is classic Barsanti nonsense. So here's my question: Who really wrote the first paragraph?

Dude your coworker was totally hitting on you!  “My son plays Fortnite all the time with his head phones on,  he can’t hear a thing and is completely distracted”

The worst part is that my nephew eventually got over Fortnite and now his account sits unused with the hundreds of dollars skins.

That or, despite some issues which are usually overblown, the game is still worth the price of admission.  I pre-ordered CP2077 and never regretted it, it NEVER could have lived up to the hype, but for what it was it was a great game and I enjoyed all 90+ hours I put into it.

Okay, now write this same article about Sony releasing Horizon, God of War, Last of Us, and the many other exclusives.

Or just get the bullet-points without messing up your browser:

Wow, that’s a very nice posterior

She has spoken publicly about it years ago and said it was embarrassing. Not because it was racist, it was integrated and there were black members at that time, but because of its snobby elitism. There was nothing overtly racist about it so had nothing, and still has nothing, to acknowledge or apologize for.

Legally or practically?

I think this is it. I’ve been reading for well over a decade. But I can’t do this anymore. “Ellie Kemper has a racist past” is not just an overstatement, it’s completely unsupported by anything we know. I can’t believe I’m going to trot out the whole ‘ethics in journalism’ shtick, but jesus tapdancing christ this
