It’s what happens when the powers at be prioritize intrusive ads and archaic design to complement said ads instead of user engagement and ergonomics. I know those who need to see this don’t read or care, but their all fucking pricks. I feel for the writers here, but never have I wanted a management group to fail more. 

Absolutely we can’t! I love the fact that NBC took a fun and silly show about obstacle courses and normal every day people and turned it into another hour of cheap reality feels and sob stories. And if tonight’s stories didn’t grab you, they’ll be back tomorrow to try again with a different format. It’s all the same…

Play to your series strengths I guess. The series stood out to me when it decided to stop treating itself as a GTA competitor and did its own thing. Some things are dated and cheesy now, like the dubstep gun, but it was out of the box thinking that made stuff fun. Why feel like everything else when you don’t have to?…

This is my thing. Before, every character looked the same, now, despite the variety in characters, every game is feeling the same.

Just like those nonsense “don’t pump gas for a day” boycotts, unless you’re willing to boycott for the long-haul (and take your audience with you) then don’t bother. They know you’ll be back tomorrow and ultimately the gesture appears performative over anything else you’re trying to achieve. Commit.

I always though Penn Badgley would have made a good Spike. Still would I think, but Cho is pulling it off look-wise.

Things I didn’t realize I wanted until just now.

I think Levar’s biggest thing was that his addition to the rotation was sort of last minute. There was an outcry of people, but I feel he only really played into the idea of doing it after so many people asked for it to happen. As such, he wasn’t really ready. If they train him up for it, I think he’d be much better. 

I’m glad I’m seeing so many stories like this. The series brought a lot of people together and these memories seem to be shared by many. I hope the negative reception at least makes them reconsider their priorities a bit. 

Yeah, I hate how often I feel like I grew out of the medium these days. I hate being cynical because this is a hobby I cherish, but these companies can’t even pretend to care (honestly) anymore.

Some people aren’t meant to lead, unfortunately. There’s no shame in that, play your strengths, but don’t do something to the detriment of everything else. He may have been a figurehead, but that shouldn’t have meant him transitioning to studio leadership.

The sad truth, for sure. These people defined the genre not too long ago, and instead they’re now succumbing to what is making it all feel stale and obviously commercial. 

One might be able to even argue a MGSV situation, all things considered.
