The decision to boot people makes sense since you can’t play with only two people, so I don’t have any gripes about that decision.

If you actually read what he says it sounds quite obvious: they are working on a “real” metroid featuring Samus, but Nintendo doesn’t show off stuff until it’s ready to show and/or is closer to release.
I know a lot of people are peeved about the Metroid thing, but on the whole I still think this wasn’t anywhere near the worst E3 Nintendo has had. Part of me definitely wishes they’d change scope and just tell us about the cool shit you have on the horizon, but part of me also totally gets why they’ll never do that.
The point he was trying to make is that he doesn’t want to pull a Last Guardian or Final Fantasy 7 Remake by saying that this game is in development and you won’t be playing it for a while. He says very clearly he wants to announce a game that is so far within its dev cycle that it is playable at these shows rather…
Cause they need that audience on the Wii U not the 3DS... as simple as that.
That actually sounds like a decent title for a Metroid game.
Pioneer something, take risks, don’t be close minded
What are you saying, that calling that game a Metroid game ISN’T as bad as the holocaust?
You do realize if they did listen to their “fans” we would’ve never gotten some of their best games, Metroid Prime for example.
That quote is a great blemish on the use of the word “atrocity”.
Pioneer something, take risks?
What’s funny is people seemed to really like the Blastball demo shown mere days earlier when it was believed to be a whole new franchise. The moment it bore the Metroid name which, like all the Mario spin offs (Tennis, Soccer, etc.) simply is there to move product, it became almost 100% negative. People are assholes.
?? Pioneer something and take risks? Has the Wii flown by you? It pioneered motion control and with it was the best selling console last gen. They also took a risk with the Wii U gamepad....and u know how that turned out. Nintendo is usually the first to try something new that the other companies dont do.
But it’s not a Prime esque experience, hence the sticking point. The blowout from it all is massively over the top though, of course.
Wow. theres a difference between being very disappointed in the Metroid announcement and being an entitled dick who tries to get a game cancelled just because they don’t like that it carries the name of their beloved franchise.
Perhaps Nintendo realized this and that’s why they do Nintendo Directs now more so than E3? Sure they made sure to make this E3 as entertaining as possible, and I’ve written quite a bit on how I think people’s frustration with Nintendo was misplaced.
this year’s E3, more so than others, was a glimpse into the distant future. Final Fantasy, Dishonored, Last Guardian, Shenmue et al won’t be out until mid-to-late 2016 at the earliest.
I can rephrase it all then.
Winner: Xbox people who want Xbox stuff
Loser: PLaystation owners who want anything in 2015
Ugh how dare Nintendo show off games coming out this year. They should of just announced stuff just for the hell of it because apparently playing games this year? Screw that. You “win” e3 if fans have something to look forwards to 2+ years away.
That jackass just needs to go away.
