I believe you’re referencing “Glimmer,” that’s used when up infusing items to make them higher. Applying shaders or mods. Purchasing gear from NPCs (like the green gear Hawthorne has). Possibly other uses I can’t think of at the moment.

The demo is just the first hour to two of the game and then it tells you to purchase the full title once you hit the limit.

I don’t mind cosmetic microtransactions like you mentioned. The armor, emotes, bikes and shaders they did in Destiny 1, whatever, didn’t hurt anyone and they were eventually obtainable through gameplay. Additionally, they were yours to keep and usable across all characters (regardless of how you obtained them).

I contacted Nintendo about this, they told me accessories are only covered for 90 days and since I got them at launch I’d have to pay $45 per Joy-Con for the repair... I’ll just give my friends those controllers I guess.
