I installed CivIV to try it out. Suddenly it was 4 AM and had to go to work in 3 hours.

@Shmooki: If you don't have an HD audio receiver, the HDMI will just pass the audio signal through to your TV. It will not be processed by your surround system. That is why you have to use the optical cable.
