If you don't like Gawker, maybe you should create your own immense penis.

Still a downer as always eh Archaotic? :)

But that's precisely it. That's the hook.

I'm reminded of something a developer once told me, the "counter" argument to the safe, sure gritty-brown FPS shooters and F2P money-grabs, and I'll paraphrase...

Even Murray himself, who was surprised by the amount of cheering a game like Moral Kombat X received during its showing at Sony's press conference, wasn't sure that people would accept his game.

I've never really cared about spoilers but that's probably because I've always been more about the journey rather than the destination.

I have!

I'd pay good money to watch that ;) Who else should appear? Maybe the creators of Towerfall? Notch?! :P

Nothing. This game is everything. This game is every game put into one game. It is also the universe. It can also support a family of 5.

Yea, I understand all that...I'm a computer scientist myself, actually. Which is why I recognized that either they have to be storing something in the cloud, or they have to not be using true randomness...but rather a consistent "generation" sequence for everybody. Otherwise, it'd be impossible to always get the same

That's a good question. But I guess that since they're using the same code base and only compiling for the different platforms, the algorithm will be the same, so it should be the same universe for all users globally.

This was the most helpful and in-depth reply I have ever received. It was insightful as to the thinking of someone hyped about the game and it also gave me the info needed as to the game itself.
When I saw the reveal (at least I think it wasn't shown before) at E3 I was a bit lost as to what was so amazing about it. It

Oh I don't know about that, the Earth was generated through set processes. I think it turned out pretty well.

Really great piece Tina, nice work. The way these guys are working, and how they're talking about their work almost sounds more like a musician talking than a game developer. It's a really interesting perspective. I look forward to tomorrow's piece.

Are we simply exploring to explore ?

I would love to watch a documentary on this game's development. Everything about this team sounds great, from their original concept, to being able to overcome adversities life threw at them, to what we've seen on E3. Should be very entertaining to watch.

I think indies are giving the entire industry a much needed boost. But it's securing the exclusivity that makes or breaks a deal.

This is probably the best example of why Sony was smart to welcome indies with their arms wide open.

if I understand the issue correctly, Mojang's real mistake wasn't to enforce these rules, but they were foolish to do so on such an abrupt note. Had they taken a few months to issue warnings, look at a handful of large servers and decide the validity of their business models on a case by case basis, and perhaps offer
