For comparison, the BMW 335D with an M57Y engine has 16.5:1 compression when new.  The D is for diesel, as in compression ignition for those not in the know.  Neat.

This is like the ultimate troll by Tesla I feel. Float a price out there for HEY SUPER CHEAP ELECTRIC CAR!* (*tax credit required to get the price) And then just never build the cheap one that all the people lined up to get before the tax credit expires. AMAZING WORK.

Can i get an article on the tow vehicle for this rocket in the last pic? Relevant to my interests.

This is the point that most people don’t understand with electric cars. brake by wire systems or e-boost systems don’t use brake boosters and everything from brake pedal feel to corner pressure ramp rates to ABS response is all controlled by a calibration. They probably had some NVH target for making the brakes work

Literally the worst exhaust note I’ve ever personally witnessed, excluding none. I’d rather listen to a straight piped rotary.

“Quite a car then. Not only can it blow your mind, but also empty your stomach.”

Another one i’d like to add to the comfort section is the ACC. Active cruise control on anything but comfort in most cars gets quite abrupt and just annoying of WOT to slam on the brakes as people are merging in/out of in front of the vehicle.

Knowing this is actual footage makes some of the CGI in disaster films like san andreas or 2012 even more cool. This looks like something out of a movie, except its real life. Wild.

Why do all MKIV Jettas smell like crayons?

I’m also quite partial to it as well.

The cost increases for the shipper who passes that increase on to the end user, which is YOU. Literally everything people consume is transported by truck / rail at some point so an increase in diesel tax would be an increase on every single good you consume.

In Michigan they began to remedy this just this year. The registration fees for EVs / PHEVs went up significantly to account for the lack of gas tax revenue.

I feel like it was a Previa or something similar maybe that had a gigantic window.

Sadly not the triple windshield wipers.

Must be that new engine brake that all the diesels come with?

This water problem isn’t limited to just the Touareg, the Cayenne also suffers from this. If you don’t mind chasing wiring issues from the resultant flood, a Cayenne GTS or Turbo could be had for a song. Same battery problems also listed here too.

R&I 17.0 hrs ish per the book.

Pictured here, special lifting apparatus. Also, just LOOK at the size of that mass damper on the front of the crank.

Wrong post.
