This is a very simple strategy of the right to plant a story in the media to make Gorsuch more confirmable. If he says one pretty tame thing that shows that maybe at least he’s not beholden to Trump, then maybe he can be on the Supreme Court, in spite of his TOTALLY INSANE judicial philosophy. Don’t fall for it.

Texas isn’t doing this because they are scared of the executive order. They are doing it because their legislature is constantly on a racist rampage against immigrants and this is just the latest flavor. Much of the law is amazingly unconstitutional, and yet they move on...

Sorry, you are not. That has already happened. The ban applies to all immigrants from those countries, even lawful permanent residents that have lived here for decades. Even dual citizens who are, e.g. Iraqi and British, are being excluded.

They did a lot more than authorize a wall. It already exists. And it already cost billions and billions of dollars. That’s how we know it’s very expensive. Because the remaining parts of the border that don’t have a wall are mostly impregnable cliffs in Marfa, where the cost of construction would get even more…

Clearly “infrastructure” means a bigger wall on the southwest border.

That would be quite wrong advice. The immigration system is much more complicated than that and legal immigrants can lose their status in all kinds of ways. It happens all the time.
