I for one strongly believe that in games like MGS implementation is much more important than story or world setting. Basically part of “story” is insignificant on how much effort does it takes to make it.

They are very mediocre movies, targeted to impress juvenile audience. Then impressed viewers grow up and want more simple and familiar experience.
