Fairy is weak to Poison and Steel types only. But since Water resists Steel, the water starter seems to have the best typing, being weak to only Grass, Electric and Poison (and immune to Dragon, resistant to Fighting, Bug, Fire, Water, Ice and Dark).

The naming convention isn’t weird for a prequel. You know what the prequels to The Amityville Horror and The Godfather were called? Amityville II: The Possession and The Godfather Part II, although admittedly the latter is only a prequel for part of the movie.
