The crazy thing that DC is doing is to also make her a kids character. She has a big part in the DC Super Hero Girls line.

One of the things about the Mary Poppins Returns movie that stood out to me was the scene were there are in the cartoon. It has been a long time since we have seen that classic Disney 2D style animation in theaters, and I was wanting more.

I have never heard “begs the question” being used in what this definition calls the more formal definition. It is an idiom that I have always heard being used to mean that something happens so we should ask this question (as the original poster used the quote.)

Saw the headline and I thought it was some sort of cloud based system that would keep track of where other people entered in speed bumps and would raise accordingly.

There is something to be said for legacy. If you have spent your life building up a certain persona and produced a certain kind of art it would be nice for that to live on without someone else tampering with it and changing it.

I had this exact situation last night. I was driving a bus load of kids back from an amusement park and construction sent us home a different way that we went there. GPS told me to turn down this really sketchy road, but I had all of like 3 seconds to decide to turn or not.

Henry David Thoreau disagrees:

If I am at a place that I will likely not be able to come back to again (non-chain in a different city) I will always ask “what shouldn’t I miss.” Sometimes I will go with it or sometimes I won’t, but I have found some really unexpected things that way.

That movie, the one where the X-Men were the superheroes and Charles became too cocky and someone on the team died because of it and then something went wrong and suddenly the president won’t take his calls anymore is a movie I would like to watch.

For all that I liked the First Class mutants better than the original Beast just never looked right for me. He just wasn’t big enough. I never figured out why they didn’t bulk him up when he went in beast mode.

I was watching Dark Phoenix and it suddenly hit me. The X-Men have a whole bunch of blue people.

I am was an English major in college (back in the 90s) who was also good at Math in school, but numbers were always a little more work for me. When my kids started doing common core math I was like “Hey, that’s the way I have been doing math in my head since I left math classes”. The easy grouping, the working

I need my cell phone screen to create a little raised section for each button so I can type without needing to look at the screen. Is someone working on this tech? My kids will never know how to text someone back while the phone is in your jacket pocket.

Yeah, if they aren’t going to use a likeness then just make them cartoons. It would be a neater visual style too.

Sometimes you just have like 15 minutes to kill and catching the end of a Friends episode on TNT is perfect. I often end up ignoring stuff I really want to watch because I don’t want to start it and not be able to finish it.

So like Spotify for TV shows?

Friends premiered when I was in college so it was appointment viewing for me and my friends. (we would actually all gather in someone’s house to watch it).

Because for many people TV isn’t something you watch it is just something you turn on. That is the one thing that streaming services are missing, the ability to just flip to a channel and not have to choose and just watch what is on.

The key is that we as fans/consumers/readers/whatever have to agree that the work is the canon. The problem with JKR is that when she says something that isn’t in the books or movies it is treated as if it were there all along.

The movie was fine. It was a good movie to go see with your kids on a rainy afternoon, but other than the “cool look it’s a ___________” it just felt sort of well fine, I guess. Not too amazing not too terrible.
