I wonder how much of his songwriting stopping and maybe starting again is related to his relationship with alcohol at the time. He’s apparently been sober for two years, which is great news, and now he’s writing songs again.

I wouldn’t say it’s surprising.  He does have a bit of a reputation for outspokenness.

Sometimes a Fantasy, an old-school rocker in the wake of disco and new wave.

I think it’s surprising that Eccleston said this, mostly because he probably bought himself a bunch of trouble. But I don’t think it’s fair to say that “whole confession was bizarrely inspired by Eccleston praising intimacy coordinators.”

As a lifelong Billy Joel fan, I’m excited. As a person who just read that laundry list of “artists” produced by Wexler, I’m terrified.

Imagine being so insecure about your own skin color that something like this sets you off.  Just sad really

Gray suits you better.

Good reminder - I’m a fan of Mike Flanagan. He had a deal with netflix to put out his movies and miniseries. Great, right? Well his 2016 home invasion horror flick Hush recently left netflix, despite being an “exclusive” - but instead of becoming available to rent or buy elsewhere.. it simply stopped existing.

That’s really not relevant or germane to the discussion. It takes nothing away from the fact that, if not for piracy, most games would simply vanish into the ether once they reached the end of their immediate commercial viability.

Yes, preservation.

I think one thing that does not get enough attention with this shift is the effect on the secondary market. In addition to being a valuable system for keeping playable games in circulation, I’ve seen how it enables whole populations of lower-income individuals to enjoy gaming. Buy a game this week, play it, sell it

Little case study for you:
I own Silent Hill Origins for the PSP, digitally, on PSN.

Honestly its more then just that these days. My son recently wanted to get into a table top wargame and my wife and I have Warmachine/Hordes. Our stuff is mostly the first and second edition of the game and somehow between the last two moves we lost some of the rule books and the model cards.

Pirates are doing *MOST* of the heavy lifting when it comes to game preservation. See also: movies and music

In the interest of representation, maybe we should only allow disgraced actors to play people with similar or worse histories. Majors can play Rodman or Bill Cosby, and maybe we can let Kevin Spacey star in the Harvey Weinstein story.

That second one is actually the start of the episode, and the rest is all about him learning to not be transphobic, which the kind of people who post it always seem to leave out.

The connection to Kimmel is far too tangential and separated by decades (not to mention Rodgers’ claim is false) to justify calling it “legitimate scrutiny”.

He owns a business with an ex-Epstein chef so he has to be a pedo? That’s beyond a stretch.

Thanks for this perspective. The whole “content” thing is really going to be our downfall. I’ve had trouble with that word for years now. The whole idea of “content creators...” That should not be a job! No one should be creating “content” just for the sake of having more “content.” Comedian is a job. Actor is a job.

A joke about someone—even when that someone is Donald Trump, even a person who lies from the minute he wakes up until the minute he’s smearing orange makeup on his MyPillow at night—even he deserves that consideration, and we give it to him. Because the truth still matters.”
