No, I don’t have the time to research every game developer; and much like the “innocent until proven guilty” adage, I prefer to judge people and game developers positively until proven otherwise (as is the case here). What I’ve done in this instance is called “changing my opinion upon being presented with more

I am ungreying you so that everyone can see what your frantic, multi-posting, copy-pasting brain does.

Real talk - creating something means constantly making tweaks and improvements as you learn what works and what doesn’t. When I’ve written articles or even longer works, there has been many a time that I was attached to a particular argument, piece of evidence, or turn of phrase, and my reader, editor, or mentor

What “common man” is angered when he looks at a bottle in a video game and doesn’t see a gay joke on it?

The counter-argument is that, now that they’ve said the material is homophobic, they’re now admitting to intentionally keeping homophobic content in their game. They’re either dedicated bigots who showed cowardice when faced by SJW” outrage, or they’re showing cowardice now and backing down when faced by “anti-SJW”

“However, a portion of our community made it loud and clear they felt removing ‘Ogay’ was censorship and should be protected by free speech. Voidpoint wanted to listen and we respected this decision.”

The brave middle-ground.

I’m not het, my husband’s not cis, we play a shitload of games, and this fucking sucks. I don’t give a fuck about how you’re Totally Not Offended, that doesn’t change how much it sucks. All you’re really communicating is that you’ve found yourself in the enviable position of being insulated from the consequences of

People throwing a bitch fit over an instance of the word ‘gay’ appearing in a videogame with zero hurtful or harmful context just makes the entire LGBTQ+ community look overly sensitive and weakens the movement as a whole.

Amazingly, no one but you has suggested any of these things. Projecting much?

By all means, keep the joke! That just means that I know to avoid a homophobic/transphobic game dev.

Yeah, we should all have the rights to use slurs and prejoratives against anyone we feel without any form of blacklash or accusations of being misogynistic, homophobic, racist, or anything of the sort! It definitely doesn’t dehumanize people or hurt communities, because it’s just a joke! And as we all know, jokes are

When gay and trans people are no longer being murdered for being who they are, then you can make jokes that their expense. I assume your passion on this issue pales in you passion to stop such injustices.

The most pathetic thing to me is that those hundreds of comments whining about “SJW’s” and other such dismissive pejoratives don’t understand that the feeling they’re experiencing is called BEING OFFENDED.

I was really anticipating this game, because I have an undying love for all the old Build engine games. Nonetheless, I requested and received a Steam refund as soon as this started. I’m not giving my money to bigots.

There are no “SJWs” in the general public, playing video games? That’s news to me.

Whenever someone uses the term “SJW” as a non-ironic derogatory insult my eyes tend to glaze over and all I hear is the Charlie Brown teacher, and I lose all memory of the previous 5 minutes. I think it’s some sort of defense mechanism or something.
