Why can't a company just buy it, and let it run how it's been running and just suck up some of the profits? I can understand from one viewpoint wanting to make it nicer, but maybe they're content where they are.

yeah, it's been getting really flaky lately, if anything I'd say this is more along the lines of beta if they just have to add more other content. 'cause to me, alpha is something like, barely playable thing that just has a couple bits working to get the general idea going.
