Do you think you would be doing him any favors by allowing him to roam unattended while knowing he has impulse control problems? It’s not oppression to ensure someone with mental illness is being cared for. Do I want to see someone like him committed? No, but I’d prefer he have someone around him who can keep him in

The “Are you REALLY criticizing someone with a mental illness?” takes are pretty disgusting. At best, it feels like one is trying to be nuanced about this issue, but missing questions about just how impaired this individual was (evidently they knew enough to read and sign a document saying their behavior was

If he was so handicapped that he lacked impulse control, why did he not have someone accompanying him to the theater to, you know, help him? It really sounds like you came in too quick to white knight a guy who, while obviously impaired, seemed to have enough self-awareness to sign a document saying he wouldn’t harass

Is it really not that clear? If the injury is so bad he can’t be trusted to manage his own impulses, then at the very least he should have somebody with him at all times. Signing a paper that promises he won’t lose control of his impulses again does jack shit.

Evidently he was aware enough to sign a document saying such behavior was unacceptable and that he wouldn’t do it again. Further, if he truly does have issues then he needs someone accompanying him at all times while in public.

Some perspective: Unless you come from an “Anglo-Saxon” background (and hell maybe even then), somebody probably made the same point Trump is making, and a few people here are saying is valid, about YOUR ancestors. So if you’re ready to shit on people from Africa, South America, Asia, or wherever you think shithole

So, this is an interesting subject to say the least. On one hand, I can understand the people who say Japanese culture and history are not the same as American history and that’s true. But in the article itself, it seems blackface entered Japan in the 1860s via encounters with Americans who brought it with them. Also,

I’m not sure Anakin’s lightsaber splitting in two due to the combined pull from both her and Ren thus causing an explosion of energy that simply allows her to hitch a ride on an escape pod is really her besting Kylo Ren.

I’d probably stop dating her. Then again, this seems like a hypothetical with more than enough forewarning.

Let’s be honest, how well do you think those arguments would hold up if you tried describing them to people who don’t watch anime or even non-anime viewing friends or family?
You’d probably lose then with “Yes, they are brother and sister, BUT NOT BY BLOOD!”

“The chief, Matthew Boyd, only released a statement saying that the police department was committed to serving and protecting its citizens and businesses.”

Yup, Cold War static defense with an emphasis on shock and awe tactics (when Zack couldn’t be shocked or awed) really hurt the armed forces.

They were the shambling kind of zombie. While they did overwhelm the military, it was because of the sheer scale of the outbreaks being dealt with. I believe the force being dealt with at the Battle of Yonkers stretched from NYC to Yonkers, nearly 20 miles in length.

Honestly, World War Z (the book) would make for a pretty good video game adaptation. It has a wealth of settings and scenarios to work with and I’d love to explore new stories in the setting.

*pushed up glasses*

When you’re right, you’re right. Whatever point I wanted to make was mangled by my wording, so I’m going to quit while I’m ahead.

The real stuff is always going to be worse, but folks making excuses for the fictional stuff is ridiculous. Revulsion is revulsion.

You know, I hear the argument that this is all fine because it’s fictional, but I still recoiled and felt awful at the entirely fictional rape and molestation of the fictional girl Lolita in the work of fiction of the same name.

Bob Chipman made a video about this issue a few months ago and provides a more likely reason for the show’s cancellation than some conspiracy to take down conservative funnymen.
