If you’re trying to shoot a hole where traffic is going 60 and 0.4 seconds is going to make or break your ability to pull out, you probably shouldn’t be trying to make that gap anyways. 0.4 seconds at 60mph is ~35ft, for reference. It’s not that big of a difference.

Not by much. My Fiata does a claimed 0-60 in 6 seconds. I believe the Miata proper is 6.1. 0.4 seconds doesn’t make a whole lot of difference in the real world. Also, in what universe is 3,500lb light?

Lol. That’s pretty funny. Yeah, that Miata is a total sales failure. Nobody likes them. And that 124, with that much more powerful turbo motor that gets from 0-60 in the same time? Yeah, you know what that is and who builds it? A Miata, built in Japan by Mazda. But you’re right, Nobody cares about the Miata.

Turbos also don’t mean big horsepower. The turbo 4 in my Fiata only makes 160hp. But, it still only weighs 2550lb, good for a 0-60 sprint in 6 or so seconds. Also, what Mazda makes less than 150hp that anyone cares about performance-wise?

The new Miata feels anything but cheap. They’re actually a rather well appointed car, even in base trim. Same goes for the Fiat 124, of which I have one. They share the same interior and are both built in Japan. I would recommend either in a heartbeat.

“Police rated” speedometers are calibrated much more precisely. I believe that standard civilian speedos can be up to 3 or so mph off, but the calibrated speedos are dead on.

The only time autos are better is stop and go traffic. Any other time, give me a manual so I can enjoy my car.
