This. All of this. They cost about the same, but the Mustang has an extra hundred horsepower, and more than double the torque. I think it gets better fuel economy too.

Did anyone else notice that the $43,000 R8 was located in Germany?

When I encountered Swan, I had fortunately saved up about 800 5mm rounds, and happened to have my minimum on me. I knew about him, but not where he was exactly. Still took me by surprise, lol.

No, and most people wouldn’t be cross-shopping too. That’s just an example of the different kinds of car $50,000 can buy you. A dolled up Golf or a 525hp sports car. Which would you choose?

I don’t think that’s in Steve’s line of work. It involves car parts, but isn’t automotive law.

Yeah, I believe it. Had a 12 before this, and it would spin the tires at 40mph in a straight line without much hesitation.

That makes me sad I couldn’t get one.

Fully optioned including the M-sport and track handling packages, which I’m sure leans it back in favour of the BMW. The BMW also does 0-60 in 5 seconds flat, compared to the TTs’ 5.4, likely attributable in part to the 228’s 8 speed gearbox compared to the TT’s 6. The BMW is slightly heavier, however with the stiffer

I think that means you just need wider tires, or to not just stand on the throttle, haha. I have one of the ecoboost ones, and I love it. Excellent on those twisty back roads.

There’s an edit button for a reason. Fully optioned out, with the AWD, the BMW has better equipment than the TT. So, yes, the TT is overpriced, especially considering that it’s still a Golf.

That’s because they did. 228i starts at like $32k. Nine grand cheaper than the base TT. I bet the 228 is just about as quick as this, too.

The TTS starts at 51k. And, as mentioned in another post by myself, a GT350 starts at 49k. Which would you rather have?

I understand. Also, I wish we had those kinds of sales here, haha. Probably do now, though. But I was referring to all the boxes ticked, for sake of comparison.

I didn’t say it wasn’t capable. I said it’s too much for a squashed Golf with a 4 cylinder. This 2L TFSI will not beat any of those cars around the track, anyways, and the TTS is going to cost even more.

Price is $50,600 as tested.

M235i isn’t the best performance per dollar, either. But it is a better car.

Not a fully loaded one. You can get a base with the performance pack for about that though, and that’s all I really need.

Yeah, if you really, really need an overpriced Golf in your life, the S3 is by far the best way to go. I actually like Audis. They look nice and they drive nice, but this is getting out of hand.

It looks good, but not $50,000 good.

Yeah, sure. Best small car. Or you could buy an M235i, which will still run circles around this, while being objectively superior in every way. Or a fully loaded Mustang GT, which while it might lack the fit and finish, will put infinitely more smiles on your face.
