Yeah, it's not perfect. But it works, and it works well. They still use them because they're super reliable compared to automotive engines. Very low strung, which makes for very long life.

Possibly. I don't know. Hopefully not, but I think the engine has to be pulled to fix that if it is off.

There's fuel in the fuel rail, the pump is functional, checked it by jumping the relay. I can't smell fuel under the hood, but I can on the plugs after cranking it. This is an interference motor though, right? I ask, because the head has been off and sometimes it will backfire into the intake. How possible is it that

110k. Not much for an 85. If memory serves when it was running, it was with starter fluid, which I would suppose to be an indication of weak spark. Would this be a problem with the coil? Plugs, wires, cap and rotor are new.

Hmm. Interesting. I'll look at the coolant temp sensor too. Either way, it's being a massive pain in my ass.

It ran briefly, but poorly when I first got it. I've replaced the distributor, and with it the Hall sensor, to no effect. There is spark, and I smell fuel after having pulled a plug, so I assume there is fuel. I don't know how I'd check the injector pulse though.

You must not have paid very close attention then. One, the IO-540, which is in the 2007 182 that I fly, has a compression ratio of 8.7:1. Two, there are two spark plugs per cylinder because there are two magnetos. There are preignition problems because it gets really fucking hot in there, not because of the engine

Modern planes have EFI. The I in IO-360 means Injection. Cessna is about to release a 4 cylinder turbodiesel version of the 182. It only has one power lever.

I have an 85 900 Turbo with the 16v, and that shit will not start. I wish I could agree with you, but I, so far, have had no evidence to make me want to.

Golf R doesn't really get 40mpg though. It's faster, yeah, but still, lol.

Since, this time, the answer isn't Miata, go up a peg in size and get one of the new 3s. They're pretty quick, still get 40mpg and you don't have to hate your life while you're driving it.

I'd hoon it.

Simulators.

I wish more Japanese cars had these more. My Mazda 6 doesn't have one, so I can't roll around with my light switch on and leave it on when I park. Lights always stay on when the switch is on, unless it's on auto.

No fuckin shit. But they can still come with a manual mode for when you want some semblance of having a real set of gears transmitting your power.

I ditched the radio in my old truck. It never worked though, and it sounds so pretty that I would never have it on anyways.

Weird. Leave it to GM to not do things right.

That's weird. What is it? Also, I don't know if 2007 counts as 'new' anymore.
