I have wondered that too - why are the white women who voted for Tr^%*p even MORE despised than the white men who voted for T*#@!p? I am not making excuses for the women who voted for him. I mean, ANYONE who voted for him is despicable, and if not actively racist at least a racist-enabler.

White men did what white men do - voted for their gender, racist interests. White women did what white women do - voted against their gender interests but for their racist interests. It’s noteworthy that a majority of white women voted against their own interests.

I (kind of) agree. As long as they’re not shaming or harassing the victim, I wouldn’t expect someone to immediately turn on somebody they’ve known and loved for a long time based on the word of a stranger.

What I don’t get is why far fewer people talk about the fact that 63% of white male voters went for Trump. White men are more responsible, and yet I had to google to find that 63%, whereas the 53% are mentioned much more often.

White men always vote republican because they always vote in their own interest. That’s why white women’s complicity is always “baffling”: voting republican is not in their interest and yet there they go, marching off to cut off their nose to spite their face.

White men definitely voted Trump at a higher rate than white women, and bear responsibility as well. I think the lack of citing that statistic as often is largely due to the fact that white men don’t have the same “have it both ways” paradox that white women do.
